Real Estate Versus Real Property


Today we would like to talk about Real Estate vs. Real Property. In addition, we need to know a simple definition of each of them. In this post, we will explain each of them and their difference.

Real Estate:

Real estate is a term that refers to the physical land, structures, and resources attached to it. Also, Real estate is property consisting of land and the buildings on it, along with its natural resources such as crops, minerals, or water; and immovable property of this nature. There are four types of real estate:

  • Residential real estate. includes both new construction and resale homes.
  • Commercial real estate.
  • Industrial real estate.
  • and, vacant land.

Real Property:

Real property includes the physical property of the real estate, but it expands its definition to include a bundle of ownership and usage rights. Now, the estate is the word we use to describe owned property consisting of houses or land. Real property is land and other assets that are permanently attached to the land. These other assets must be permanently placed on or under the land. Examples of real property are buildings, canals, crops, fences, land, landscaping, machinery, minerals, ponds, railroad tracks, and roads. 

Now, Real Estate vs. Real Property:

Real estate typically refers to tangible aspects of property, while real property includes both tangible ( land and improvements) and intangible ( rights).
